Tourist sanctions on African countries will be ineffective: Guterres
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has strongly condemned travel bans on South Africa and its neighbors.
Antonio Guterres said travel bans on certain countries were unfair because of the Omicron, adding that the virus does not cross borders, and travel bans would be ineffective.
The Secretary-General said that corona testing of passengers should be ensured instead of travel restrictions.
It should be noted that the President of the African Union Commission Musa Faqi Muhammad has also condemned the tourism restrictions for African countries.
The World Health Organization (WHO) on November 25 in South Africa identified a virus called Omi Cron, after which travel bans were announced for other African countries, including South Africa.
