Israel's summit with Greece and Cyprus
Israel's summit with its allies Greece and Cyprus has begun in Jerusalem. Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with Cypriot President Nikos Anastasiades. After that, the tripartite meeting will start. The talks will focus, among other things, on relations between the two countries and their rival Turkey. Cyprus and Israel have discovered natural gas reserves in the Mediterranean and are planning a pipeline to Central Europe with Greece. Turkey asserts its right to these reserves. This is one of the main reasons for the recent tensions between the two countries.
