    Chinese tennis player missing

Following the international pressure on Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai to get well, official photos of her attending an event in which she appeared at a tennis tournament in Beijing have been released.

Earlier this month, Peng Shuai had said about former Deputy Prime Minister Zheng Gaoli that he had tried to have "forced" sex with Peng Shuai.

She has not been seen in public since.

According to the news agency AFP, his absence was raised by famous tennis players and the United Nations at the international level.

Chinese state media reporters have released some footage aimed at showing that Peng Shuai is well.

Global Times editor Ho Shi Jin tweeted a video of the event in which peng shui could be seen in a stadium.

Another Global Times journalist shared another video on Twitter showing Peng Shuai giving autographs to children.

In another video, Xi Jinn is seen entering a restaurant wearing a Peng Shuai coat and masks.

However, AFP could not confirm the videos.

This is the first time since the accusation against Peng Shuai's former deputy prime minister that China's Mei Too campaign has reached the top leadership of the ruling Communist Party.

Peng Shuai's allegations were quickly removed from China's Twitter-like platform Weibo, and rumors of his safety have been circulating ever since.

Steve Simon, head of the Women's Tennis Association, said he was pleased to see the photos of Peng Shuai in one of the restaurant videos shared by Ho Chi Minh on social media.

However, it is unclear whether she is making decisions without coercion.

"This video is not enough," Simon said in a statement.

He further added that he had clearly discussed the way forward and that relations with China were at a critical juncture on the issue of the Women's Tennis Association.

It should be noted that the Women's Tennis Association has threatened to terminate huge contracts with China until the safety of Peng Shuai is confirmed.

Chinese state media say they have released evidence of Peng Shuai's well-being.
