Chinese President Xi Jinping has been given the same status as Mao Zedong
Chinese President Xi Jinping has been given the same status as Mao Zedong, the founder of the ruling Communist Party of China.
According to the BBC, the resolution was passed in the sixth plenary session, which is of the greatest political significance in China. The resolution passed to give Xi Jinping the same status as Mao Zedong also outlines the 100-year history of the Communist Party of China, its achievements, and future strategy.
This is the third such resolution in the history of China. The first resolution was passed by Mao Zedong in 1945. He was followed by a similar resolution in 1981 for Deng Xiaoping.
Addressing a press conference, senior Communist Party leader Qiu Kingshan said that this third resolution, like the previous two, would play a significant role in the party's strategy.
