Ukraine conflict, Germany threatens Russia with 'serious consequences

 

Germany's newly elected Foreign Minister Analina Beerbok has threatened Russia with "serious consequences" if the escalating conflict in Ukraine escalates. Talking to his French counterpart, he said that if Moscow violated the sovereignty of the Ukrainian state, it would have to pay a heavy political and economic price. Bearbook insisted that military tensions should be avoided at all costs. Western nations have accused Russia of preparing for military intervention in Ukraine, but Russia has denied the allegations.
