Chile: wildfires, 100 houses reduced to ashes
A wildfire on the Chilean island of Chile in the South American country has burned to the ground 100 houses and left hundreds homeless.
According to a statement issued by the National Emergency Situations Department of the Chilean Interior Ministry, the forest fire that started yesterday in the town of Castro in the province of Chile has so far reduced to 3 to 8 hectares of forest land.
A red alarm has been issued in the area. The fire affected 400 people and evacuated 340 people. 100 houses were burnt in the area and 4 people including 2 fire brigade personnel were injured.
