The reign of electric vehicles at the Los Angeles Auto Show

Battery-powered vehicles will be the focus of attention at the Los Angeles Auto Show a year later due to the Corona epidemic.

The last decade has seen a huge increase in sales in the United States of Japanese carmaker Subaru, which is going to introduce its first fully electric SUV called 'Solterra' at this exhibition.

Vietnamese carmaker WinFast, which plans to launch its car in the United States next year, will be unveiling two fully electric SUVs.

Over time, the importance of auto shows has diminished as auto companies have decided to avoid costs and unveil vehicles at their events.

New carmakers have planned 10 news conferences for this year's Los Angeles show, most of which are about electric vehicles.

The show has seemed a bit unfocused in recent episodes in urban areas for consumers who want to learn about new cars in one place.

For example, the Subaru's Solterra, which is about the size of a Japanese company Forster's gas-powered SUV, can cover a distance of about 350 km on a single charge and has the trademark of dealing with bad weather while traveling. There will be 'All Wheel Drive.

The carmaker says that the Solterra's lithium-ion battery can be charged at home and is capable of DC fast charging on the road. It's electric motor has 215 horsepower.

Subaru says the five-passenger Solterra will go on sale next year, but its price has been kept secret.

Introducing the VF e35 and VF e36 electric SUVs at the Vietnam Show in Vietnam.

Automaker's global chief executive, Michael Lohshler, said WinFast plans to take orders in the spring and start delivering vehicles in the United States in the fall.

Initially, these SUVs will be built in a new factory in Vietnam but the company later plans to build it in a US factory which will start production in the second quarter of 2024. The company is currently browsing the sites.

Lohschiller said in an interview on Wednesday that the VF e35 will have a maximum range of 499 kilometers on a single charge, while the e36 will be able to travel up to 679 kilometers on a single charge. The company also did not disclose the prices of these vehicles.

OneFast plans to sell vehicles through its network of stores in Los Angeles, where most of the ordering is done online.

The company is already planning to open 60 stores in California alone. It will also have some service centers and mobile service, Loschler said.

Talking about mobile service, he said: "We will come to your house and fix it."

Lushler said WinFast is part of the Vingroup Group, which is raising funds to boost sales of electric vehicles in the United States and ultimately Europe.

He said WinFast plans to raise its stake in US public stocks in the next two years to raise more funds.

He said the company was already selling cars with gas engines and electric power in Vietnam.

The Los Angeles Auto Show promoters say it will have more test drive opportunities than previous shows, including indoor electric vehicle test tracks as well as outdoor test drives.

The show will be open to the public from November 19 to 28.
