Paris: The fifth wave of Corona has started in France in which the number of new cases is increasing at lightning speed.

According to the World News Agency, the rate of new cases of the virus in France is increasing alarmingly. The number of new cases of covid has doubled on a daily basis in the last 24 hours.

A statement from the French Department of Health said that in the seven days leading up to Saturday, the average number of corona cases reached 17,153, up from 8,458 last week, an increase of 81% in the number of new cases. ۔

According to a government spokesman, the number of new cases is increasing at lightning speed. The rise in corona cases in the last seven days broke the previous three-week record, but he also claimed that hospital admissions were low due to high vaccination rates.

The spokesman also said that 7,974 patients were admitted to the intensive care units of the hospitals on Saturday out of which 1,033 were in critical condition but corona restrictions would still apply only to non-vaccinated persons.
