    Iran women's football team goalkeeper



    Why did Jordan accuse the goalkeeper of the Iranian women's team of being a man after the women's football match? 

    Jordanian authorities have recently accused the goalkeeper of their rival Iranian women's soccer team in the Women's Asia Cup that the goalkeeper is not a woman but a man.  The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has been asked to launch an investigation into the gender of the Iranian team's goalkeeper.  

    In the qualifying round of the Women's Asia Cup, the Iranian women's soccer team defeated the Jordanian women's soccer team 2-4 in a penalty shootout.  In this match, Iranian goalkeeper Zahra Kodai easily blocked 2 kicks of Jordanian footballers - but the matter did not end there.  Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, president of the Jordanian Football Association, recently tweeted an official letter to the AFC requesting confirmation of Zahra Kodai's gender, suggesting that the keeper was a  There was a man who was disguised as a woman.  

    Jordan accused Iran of having a history of gender and doping problems and called on the AFC to "wake up".  On the other hand, the Iranian authorities dismissed the allegations regarding the sex of the jumper as the worst sportsmanship and a simple excuse to lose a match in which Jordan was the favorite.  

    Women's soccer coach Maryam Irandost told fans not to worry, as accusations have no legs.  "The medical staff has carefully examined every player of the national team regarding hormones in order to avoid any trouble in this regard and therefore I tell all the fans not to worry," said Irandost.  "We will provide any documents that the Asian Confederation of Football wants without wasting time. 

    These allegations are just an excuse not to accept defeat against the Iranian women's national team."  Has also called the investigation meaningless, saying she is a woman and has accused Jordan of bullying and intimidation. The female goalkeeper also said she would take legal action against the Jordanian federation. According to Al Arabiya, Iran has previously been accused of using male players in the women's soccer team.
