India-born Prague Agarwal becomes the new CEO of Twitter
Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey has resigned. He will be replaced by Prag Agarwal, CTO of Hind Nazad Company. According to a CNBC report, Jack Dorsey has previously served as CEO of Twitter and Square. Square is Jack Dorsey's digital payment platform. Twitter says Jack Dorsey's board of directors will remain until the end of 2022.
"I've made up my mind to leave Twitter, and I'm glad the company is moving away from its founders," Dorsey said in a statement. Prague Agarwal will now be in charge of Twitter. Jack Dorsey has shared his resignation letter on Twitter. He said this was the best time to resign from the company. He has mentioned three reasons for this.
Dorsey writes: The first reason is that Prague is becoming the new CEO of the company. The board went through a lengthy process for a new CEO, and they all unanimously elected Prague Agarwal. Prague has been my favorite because of its understanding of the company. Prague has played a key role in every difficult decision and that is why the company stands here today. Dorsey also praised Prague Agarwal.
Dorsey cites another reason: Brett Taylor's decision to become board chairman is another important one. When I became CEO, I asked Brett to join the board. They have been the best for the company in every way.
On the other hand, Dorsey has given a third reason that all this has been possible because of you people. Our team has a lot of potentials. This can be understood from the example of Prague. He joined the company as an engineer and is now our CEO. It makes me feel proud. I know that Prague will use your skills in the right way.
